• Discrimination: This is coordination of an automatic breaking device so that a fault, occuring at one point of the installation, will be eliminated by the circuit-breaker immediately upstream of the fault and only by this circuit-breaker. Discrimination is total when, for all presumed fault values, from overload through to full short-circuit, the breaking device immediately upstream of the fault opens before the breaking device. Discrimination is partial if the above condition is not complied with up to the full current value (largest value), but only up to a lower value.
• Procedure: The user chooses in a database the breaking devices whose curves he would like to view. This database contains all the circuit-breakers in Schneider Electric's range, even those that are no longer commercialized. Once the tripping curves have been viewed, the user can adjust the setting bands to immediately adjust plotting. You can display as many curves as you wish. However, for legibility reasons, we recommend that you use no more than 4 automatic breaking devices for study purposes.
